Ethics & Sustainability

Materials

At the moment we source from a Swedish (Dynamics AB) and a Belgian (Stanley/Stella) clothing company. In both cases they manufacture their products in Bangladesh in their own factories using Fair Trade certified practices and under GOTS (organic clothing) certification.

Our clothing blanks are 100% organic, 100% recycled, or a mixture of both.

Organic cotton is a more sustainable choice when it comes to cultivating cotton. Instead of the chemical cultivation methods typically used for conventional cotton, organic cotton farming uses natural and traditional techniques. As a result, it uses less energy, requires no harmful chemicals, and releases fewer greenhouse gases. And because organic production systems improve soil quality, significantly less water is used. The overall positive effect on water, soil and biodiversity means the well-being and livelihood of farmers and their communities are respected and protected.

Nothing is perfect and undoubtedly some green-washing goes on at every level in every industry, but we work hard to do what's right.

The logos and certifications on each product page are held by the manufacturer of the blank.

Design & Artwork

All of our designs are from artists based in Ireland or the United Kingdom. We never use automated tools like Canva, AI tools, or cheap sources of labour like Upwork. Our artists set their own rates and terms.

Printing

Our clothing is screen-printed using traditional methods by small independent printing companies in Ireland and the United Kingdom. All inks are water based and vegan.

Fulfilment

Converted stone barn with 1971 VW Type 2

Our warehouse is a converted stone barn. The barn was last renovated using traditional materials in 2022, and the before that in 1898. We believe the barn is at least 400 years old. We ship all orders in paper packaging in so far as possible. Some of our t-shirts are in poly bags that protect them in storage. These are recyclable, and we hope to move to compostable bags soon.
